Interesting conversations over the weekend around 'why haven't we got stories to share of God at work in our week?'
On Monday I read that Jesus was asked the same question by the disciples (Matthew 17) and Jesus response was 'because you are not yet taking God seriously' (The message) - 'the simple truth is, that if you had a mere kernel of faith ... you would tell this mountain, 'Move' ...'
I don't know about you, but taking the plunge to put ourselves - and God - on the line by offering, for example, to pray for someone can seem about as risky as suggesting we could order a mountain to move - we might just look very stupid. As someone over the weekend put it - every time you step out in 'faith' it feels like you are stepping off a cliff.
Maybe we need to take God more seriously - that he is longing to meet our friends and colleagues where they are at - but someone has to bring the message.
Let's give it a go - and share the stories.

Hello
Hi
This is set up to help us think about ways forward as a church, especially following the men's weekend away in May 2011.
We want to take God seriously, and see his kingdom come in our everyday.
How can we raise our view of God, and our expectation that he is with us in the everyday places of work and family and let's hear our stories of just that ...
